The Root
The primordial state: what exists before there is space, time or matter, and why that cannot remain still.
At the origin there is no vacuum to which matter is later added. There is a single reality with two inseparable capacities: that of condensing and that of hosting. Neither exists without the other, and their distinction is not spatial—they are not in different places—but internal: they are two faces of the same thing, each present in its entirety wherever there is anything.
The capacity to condense. That which tends toward form, definition, concentration.
The capacity to host. That which tends toward openness, indefiniteness, expansion.
The inherited imperfection
If those two capacities canceled each other exactly, there would be no history. There would be a perfectly symmetric state, and a perfectly symmetric state has no reason to change: it would be inert forever.
The model starts from the premise that this exact cancellation does not occur. Every cycle inherits an imperfection $\delta_0 > 0$, a minimal mismatch that prevents rest. And that imperfection is the only free input of the whole construction, together with a handful of shape constants of order unity.

The primordial tension: the releasable energy of the cycle. It vanishes exactly when the imperfection vanishes.What the formalism adds here, and what was not obvious in advance, is that the symmetric state is not only sterile: it is also barely stable. The stiffness of the perfect well is itself marginal, proportional to the square of the imperfection. Perfection is not a stronghold; it is an equilibrium that hangs by a thread.

The landscape: a false vacuum
The imperfection turns the perfect state into a false vacuum. The Basal potential describes this landscape: in the exact limit of zero imperfection the well is flat to sixth order—symmetric, inert, with nothing that begins—and any deviation, however small, introduces a tilt that breaks the symmetry and opens a way out.
The decay of that false vacuum is what inaugurates history. And it has a preferred direction that is not chosen: the first way out is toward the mass pole. Condensation is constituted first, and only afterwards comes the transport toward openness, the gradual conversion that crosses the axis of the system and is still taking place today.
The grammar of the process
From there on, the discharge does not proceed continuously but by discrete thresholds, and each stretch repeats the same sequence. The universe completes it until it exhausts it; then it returns to the root.
A collapse is the moment when an accumulated tension resolves into structure. A seal is what remains afterwards: a fixed point of the flow where a rule of the world becomes irreversibly fixed. The seals are the reason the constants are constant; they are not postulated with a value, they end up with it.
And the direction of the process is not postulated either. The Path Monotonicity Theorem proves that the flow is dissipative and admits no periodic orbits within a cycle: the arrow of structuring is a result, not a hypothesis; the temporal arrow is induced afterwards by the Florencia Rotation (FE-08-2026, E11). From this follows something worth understanding well: the return of the system cannot be a circle traversed within a single cycle. If there is a return, it lives in the restart between cycles.
Why there is no time here
It is tempting to imagine the root as a much earlier instant, the first of all. It is not. Before the last threshold there is no time at all: there are only correlations ordered by structuring. The sequence is real, but it is not a temporal succession: it is an order, not a duration.
That dissolves the question of the zero instant, which in the standard model produces a singularity. Here there is no initial moment to start from, because there are no moments yet. And it also dissolves the apparent paradox of a duality without space in which to unfold: the Dimensional Orthogonality Lemma proves that a duality of internal dimension two is consistent on a support of dimension zero. The duality can exist on a point without dimensions, because its distinction was never spatial.
The closure of the cycle
The last of the eight axioms says that the residue of each discharge founds the next cycle, and adds a clause that is not decorative: the return is not guaranteed; it is won.
What is transmitted from one cycle to the next is a parametrically light memory mode, which encodes how much conversion was reached. If the amplification between cycles is favorable, the imperfection is reconfigured and the chain starts up again; one never returns to perfect symmetry, so the cycle is a spiral and not a circle. But there is also the structural possibility of a terminal cycle, when the residue falls below the activation floor and the chain does not ignite again.
Status of this last point. The sign of the exponent that decides whether the return is amplified is classified in the treatise as conditional: it holds under explicit hypotheses not yet verified, and computing it from the microdynamics is one of the seven open fronts.
