Origin of Time
Why does time exist? What generates it? Why does it have a direction?
Unanswered Questions
- What is time? — Substance, relation, or illusion?
- Why does it flow? — The equations are symmetric under t ↔ -t
- Why are there a past and a future? — The arrow of time
- Did it exist before the Big Bang? — The boundary condition
Traditional Approaches
Newtonian
- Absolute, external time
- Flows uniformly
- Independent of the observer
Relativistic
- Time relative to the observer
- Merged with space (4D)
- Still a parameter, not emergent
The MCMC Solution
The MCMC proposes that time is born at S = 1.001 (third entropic seal) together with the relative dual metric 3+1D:
The Third Seal: S = 1.001
Time does not exist from the beginning. It is born at the seal S = 1.001 when the relative dual metric with signature 3+1D emerges:
Before this threshold, the space-time distinction does not exist. At S = 1.001, the relative dual metric emerges, separating time from space.
Ontological Gradient
Once born, time arises from the difference between “being as mass” (Mp) and “being as space” (Ep):
The “flow of time” is the continuous conversion of potential into manifestation, activated at S = 1.001.
Relational Time
In the MCMC, time is relational, not absolute:
Time “passes” because entropy increases. The integral begins at the birth seal S = 1.001.
The Arrow of Time
Origin of Directionality
The direction of time reflects the direction of relaxation of the primordial tension:
The temporal arrow points in the direction of tension relaxation, from the Primordial State (S₀) toward the final equilibrium (S₁₀₀).
Entropic Increment
Irreversibility emerges from the entropic increment:
In the Primordial State (S = 0), there is no time because there is no space-time distinction. Time is “born” at S = 1.001.
Time is born at the third entropic seal, together with the space-time separation
Entropic Structure and Time
Entropic Chronology: Seals → Processes → Collapses
- S₀: ROOT — timeless, Mass-Space integration
- S₀.₀₀₁: SEAL₁ — V₀D (point) emerges
- S₀.₀₀₉: COLLAPSE C₀ — Planck scale
- S₀.₀₁₀: SEAL₂ — V₁D (motion) emerges
- S₀.₀₉₉: COLLAPSE C₁ — CPT violation, c fixed
- S₀.₁₀₀: SEAL₃ — V₂D (rotation) emerges
- S₀.₉₉₉: COLLAPSE C₂ — electroweak scale
- S₁.₀₀₀: SEAL₄ — V₃D (volume) emerges
- S₁.₀₀₁: COLLAPSE C₃ — Birth of time, 3+1D metric
- S → 100: Current universe — fully developed time
Time has not “always” existed; it has a precise point of birth in the collapse C₃ of the entropic evolution of the universe.
The Mechanism: Expansion and Decay
Time = Change through Expansion
What we interpret as time is the change that occurs in the system due to the expansion of space:
- The CPT violation at S₀.₀₉₉ fixes c and generates irreversibility
- This coupled energy causes the expansion of space
- As it expands, the energy density decays
- This decay produces the changes = time
Vacuum Energy and Mass Gap
The quantum vacuum energy is the energy coupled to space, coming from the energy below the manifestation threshold (Mass Gap):
- Sub-gap energy → coupled to space
- Its decay generates time
- It is the same ECV (Virtual Quantum Energy)
- The current rate is so low that it appears constant (Λ)
Before the Big Bang?
Standard Cosmology
- “Before” makes no sense
- t = 0 is a singularity
- Time begins there
- Poorly formulated question
MCMC
- S < 1.001: there is no time
- S = 0: timeless (no singularity)
- Time is born at S = 1.001
- “Before” = pre-temporal state
Philosophical Connection
The Path and Time
In the philosophy of the MCMC, time is the Path (道) through which Being manifests itself. The present is the only “real” moment; past and future are projections of memory and anticipation.
This vision connects physics with Eastern philosophical traditions and Western phenomenology.
Implications
- Problem of time in QG: Solved — time emerges
- Thermodynamic arrow: Derived from dS ≥ 0
- Quantum timelessness: At S ~ 0, timeless effects
- Time travel: Impossible — it would require dS < 0
